The BlackBerry® 8830 World Edition Smartphone redefines style, function and capability. This sleek and performance–driven smartphone has been redesigned with trackball navigation and a new backlit QWERTY keyboard. It comes equipped with microSD™ expandable memory support and a media player. It also offers Bluetooth® support and Mobile Broadband Connect service via VZAccess Manager™. Get turn–by–turn directions with VZ Navigator^sm.

Business customers (5 or more lines of service) interested in purchasing a global calling plan or global feature with the BlackBerry 8830 must call a sales representative at 1–800–899–4249. If you are not a business customer, you will be able to purchase a global calling plan or feature by visiting a retail store or calling 1 800 2 JOIN IN.

This is my second world edition... both have failed shortly after a year of use(so I can never get to new at 2 program). the roller ball stops functioning; stops charging the battery, lousy phone quality but was the only global phone Verizon had when I got it and was traveling out of the country on business frequently.. can't wait to get rid of it.

Cons:
breaks often; lousy phone quality; rim server failures

this phone serves my needs very well. I would like to try a Tour or Storm 2, just for internet enhancement.

great phone if you want to get calls / messages outside US. Otherwise, no other redeeming features.

Pros:
can get calls / emails anywhere in the world

Cons:
poor keyboard contrast no camera no video capability

This was my first blackberry and I've had it for 2 years (for work and pleasure) and I loved it. I had the red colored one and it fit all my needs. As the phone is getting older, the internet is getting slower and so is my reception/service. I loved that it syncs w/ my car's Blue Tooth however I find the speakerphone to be a little fuzzier than other phones I've had. I will upgrade to a new version however since they don't offer an upgrade phone of this model I will switch to a Curve.

Pros:
battery lasts awhile great reception blue tooth compatible w/ car

Cons:
you have to log in to your account to view picture messages internet is slow speakerphone is weak
