BlackBerry® Curve™ 8530 smartphone in Smoky Violet

I love my new blackberry curve, however I cannot figure out why the battery life goes out after about 10 hours barely being used. I've been spending a lot of time at home since it is the winter and don't use the blackberry quite as much as I will once the weather warms up, therfore the phone is basically just sitting around not being used. I use it to txt maybe 4 or 5 times a day. The battery life does not last as it is, I can only wonder what will happen when I am using the blackberry a lot more often. Things I like about it are the buttons are easy to press, it is very easy to navigate through, the display is beautiful, and the touch mouse. Pretty much everything except the battery is wonderful about this phone. Despite the battery I would recommend someone to get this blackberry. If you're the type of person who txts, and uses the internet more often than talk on the phone then this blackberry is for you.

To get better life from your battery, try switching off the Wi-Fi. It will noticeably improve the battery charge.

I am sending back because I cannot read the keypad unless I put on some reading glasses I could read my other blackberry without glasses and it is black.

i cannot read the keypad!!!! it is hard to read the special characters etc.

I previously had a Blackberry Pearl through Verizon and I loved that phone to death. So, of course, when it came time for me to upgrade my phone, I decided to stick with Blackberry. I had toyed with the idea of either getting the older curve or this phone, and the awesome purple color that the 8530 came in was my final deciding factor. I had a bit of trouble getting used to it, because of its smaller buttons, but since I'm used to Blackberry software, it wasn't too difficult for me to become acclimated to it, and overall, I really enjoy it. However, I have to be completely honest in saying that its battery life is really bad. I find myself having to charge it in the middle of the day so that it doesn't die on me.The phone also seems to be built somewhat cheaply. I accidentally dropped it the other day and the faceplate is now warped and bulging out on the right side of the phone, which surprised me, considering it was barely a 4 foot drop onto my kitchen floor. I dropped my Pearl millions of times and never had anything like that happen.
